Re: Vanessa Guillen

Warning: The following contains reference to violence.

Cameron — It has been one year since the body of Vanessa Guillen was found near Army post, Fort Hood. Guillen's murder exposed a toxic culture of sexual harassment and danger at Fort Hood. Two dozen soldiers have died at Fort Hood, and many more have found their reports of assault and harassment routinely dismissed. In Vanessa's honor, a new law could now pass in Congress to keep soldiers safe. Join now and urge Congress to end Fort Hood's legacy of death and harassment.

The "I am Vanessa Guillen Bill' would allow for current active serving military personal to report sexual harassment to third party agencies instead of their commanding officer, or their superiors.

Vanessa Guillen and many other females and male members of the military have reported sexual harassment to their commanders, with no action having been taken. Often times their superiors are the ones who harass those under them.

Unfortunately, Vanessa Guillen is one of 24 other soldiers from Fort Hood that have been found dead around the area.
