TicketMaster

Cameron — TicketMaster is coming under fire for what fans claim is price-gouging. The company recently introduced "Platinum Pricing," which prices tickets based on demand. The new feature has resulted in Harry Styles tickets selling for $83.50 at face value, then increasing to $450 the next day. That's a 500% increase. Sahmaya wants TicketMaster to end this practice so that lower-income fans can still buy tickets to their favorite shows like they used to. Add your name to convince TicketMaster to stop price gouging.

End Ticketmaster's Platinum Pricing Policy

Ticketmaster's Platinum Pricing policy was allegedly implemented to "give fans fair and safe access to some of the best seats in the house." While this seems like a fair rule, it now operates to block lower-income fans from enjoying the artists they love. According to Ticketmaster, Platinum Pricing enables a market system where tickets are priced according to demand so that the "most passionate" fans have access to them.

This sounds like a fair rule until you view the prices of the tickets. Unfortunately, this policy only means that the most wealthy fans have access to them. In Section 213 at Madison Square Garden, Harry Styles' concert tickets were priced at face value at $83.50 in the presale. The next day, in general sale, they were priced upwards of $450--a 500% increase--not including later fees. Tickets in the upper house that are meant to be cheap now have unaffordable prices due to the Platinum Pricing policy. In an even more egregious example, pit tickets have increased to $1,050 per ticket, a price that some people pay for rent.

There has been no evidence to suggest that this policy protects fans' tickets from scalpers or bots; if anything, this encourages those entities. Scalpers can buy these tickets at expensive prices and resell them for even worse until the only tickets available are unaffordable in all places. The only fans who have access to these tickets are wealthy. Of course, this benefits Ticketmaster because it means they can profit off of fans using this system and gain the maximum amount of profit.

Ending Platinum Pricing means that lower-income fans can enjoy viewing their favorite artists or sports teams at venues that use Ticketmaster, creating a more equitable system. If Ticketmaster wants to protect fans from scalpers and bots, they must strengthen their platform--not charge fans unaffordable amounts over 500% over face value. Keep COVID testing free

Cameron — As we head into summer, we can expect increased travel - along with increased COVID cases. Right now, more than 100,000 new COVID cases are being reported each day. Federal funding for free testing ended in March, forcing many to pay out of pocket for COVID tests not covered by their insurance. Embry Health started their petition because they know the pandemic isn't over. They want to see the government provide free COVID testing for all - so we can end this pandemic sooner.

Keep COVID-19 Testing Free For All

As of March 22nd the federal government ran out of funds for COVID-19 testing. Without immediate action this will result in millions of Americans loosing access to critically important testing.

The Federal decision to not fund COVID-19 testing thru the HRSA will adversely impact the access for uninsured to receive reliable testing.

Phoenix, AZ: Embry Health has been providing COVID-19 services to different communities across Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, New Mexico, and Washington, when communities worldwide needed a test that could result in a life-or-death situation.

We have offered over 4,000,000 tests and seen over 2,000,000 unique patients over these past two years.

Unfortunately, with the recent announcement of the HRSA program losing funding, everyone will be impacted, from medical providers to patients.

Embry Health has been forced to end free testing for uninsured patients, resulting in many of our patients being affected.

"If people do not have free COVID-19 testing available, they will not get tested, putting families and loved ones at risk. Therefore, Embry Health continues to encourage Congress to authorize additional timely funding for COVID-19 testing, treatment, and vaccinations. This funding is critical to ensure the testing and vaccine infrastructure built by labs and providers across America remains available for all patients, regardless of insurance status," said Embry CEO Raymond Embry.

To those who have been our supporters and community partners, we thank you, because of you, we made a difference together during this pandemic.

We encourage you to sign this petition to ensure that those who are not covered by insurance can continue to rely on the HRSA fund to cover claims submited for uninsured patients who still need to be able to have access to free COVID-19 testing.
